ABOUT
Born in Bilbao (Spain), Cristina Sáez took up photography after graduating in Psychology and moving to London in 2001. In 2006 she completed an MA in Photography and Urban Cultures (2006) from Goldsmiths, University of London and she was a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Visual Anthropology, Goldsmiths, between 2009 and 2010.
Cristina's work investigates the ways in which humans perceive and relate to the environment, with a particular concern for the alienation between man and nature in industrialized societies. Her current practice explores photography in its widest sense, combining traditional and new technologies of vision with camera obscura installations, animation, videoart and VJing.
Cristina has exhibited internationally and taken part in festivals and residencies worldwide, as well as collaborating on a regular basis with other visual artists and musicians. Her work is in private and corporate collections including Religare Arts in India and the Photomedia Centre in US, and collectors in Europe, US, India and Morocco.
Her portfolios of creative imagery are licensed through Gallery Stock and Arcangel Images.
Cristina works as a freelance facilitator in outreach and community projects with London-based organizations such as Photofusion and as a digital photography tutor for Photography Course London.
