TOJIMBO: It could be the last sunset (2009)
                                    (Loop)

Never-ending sunset from Tojimbo Cliffs, one of Japan's most popular suicide spots.
Japan is the country with the highest suicide rate in the developed world, and a great proportion take place in natural locations. Tojimbo Cliffs, in Fukui, attracts those in search of one last beautiful view of nature before returning their bodies to the sea, origin of all life.
This project was inspired by the symbolism of this ultimate return to nature, and an interest in what this might tell us about our alienation from nature in industrialized societies.
