Dressed in Flowers (2020-2021) Silver gelatin photograms 30x40 to 70x108 cm
I began looking at women’s underwear from the male viewpoint, wondering particularly what makes lace ’sexy’, both for the wearer and the observer. Photograms let me see things in - literally - a different light, and in the darkroom I found a delicate beauty made of intricate floral patterns and dreamy transparencies that has something intimate and liberating in it, more sensual, tactile and personal that the external gaze. As giornalist Alessandro Tini put it flashes of light in the darkness give an unusual and intimate vision of female lingerie. Persuasive shadows literally projected onto photographic paper reveal a hidden and seductive world, totally disconnected from sexuality. The subject therefore loses the function for which it was created and reveals its new fascinating nature. Unique and authentic.
