I began looking at women’s lingerie from the male viewpoint, wondering what makes lace so ’sexy’. Making these photograms let me see these pieces of clothing - literally - a different light, and in the darkroom I discovered a delicate beauty, made of intricate floral patterns and dreamy transparencies, that had something intimate and liberating in it, more sensual, tactile and personal that the external gaze.
